John Mayall with special guest Harrison Kennedy
Sean O Sullivan Theatre

John Mayall is a blues legend. By the 1960s, Mayall was in London at the forefront of the blues explosion fronting the band, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. The Bluesbreakers became the fertile musical school for a rash of British legends such as Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor (The Rolling Stones), Jack Bruce (Cream) and Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood (who formed Fleetwood Mac).

After helping to introduce musicians and audiences in both Europe and North America to the strength and power of the blues, John Mayall has continued to collaborate with greats such as John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, Sonny Boy Williamson, Buddy Guy and Albert Collins. Mayall is an influential living legend who has spent his life delivering the blues gospel over the course of 57 solid albums.

Harrison Kennedy's family often gathered with touring musicians, such as Lonnie Johnson and Billie Holiday, for dinner and impromptu jam sessions in their Hamilton living room. Although music has always been part of his life, he somewhat stumbled into an audition that led to a stint with the Platinum-selling Detroit soul band Chairmen of the Board in the early '70s. Despite appearances on the Tonight Show and Soul Train and opening for the likes of Stevie Wonder, James Brown and B.B. King, Harrison quit the band. Always a singer, Harrison eventually got serious about mastering the guitar, harmonica and banjo.

A genuine blues troubadour with an extraordinarily soulful voice and a mind for lyrics that dig deep into your heart. This 2011 International Blues Challenge first runner up is poised to have the reception that his voice, talent and spirit deserve.

Through years of touring and recording, Joel Plaskett had earned numerous East Coast Music Awards and JUNO nominations and the reputation as an entertaining and engaging performer.
