OSHAWA

OshawaLogo.gif (9278 bytes)Oshawa has something for everyone. The city is an academic centre offering three universities, one college and several training colleges. For those who enjoy the outdoors, Oshawa provides 2,100 acres of parkland and open spaces, including 135 parks, over 100 playgrounds and 25 kilometres of trails that wind through the city and link to the Great Waterfront Trail. For those who have a taste for fresh, locally grown produce, six famers’ markets dot the city.

Oshawa attracts high-profile events, hosts 45 annual community events and is home to the Oshawa Generals Hockey Club. Five museums, two live theatres, a national art gallery and a world-class symphony also enrich the city. Oshawa offers numerous public transit options, including VIA Rail and GO Transit, direct access to Highway 401, a full-service airport and deep-water port.

AJAX

logo-ajax.gif (5553 bytes)Ajax is part of Durham Region, one of the fastest growing areas of Ontario. Residents enjoy a full range of excellent municipal services of city quality in a mid-sized town setting. We enjoy and strive to preserve a rich natural heritage, including waterways such as Duffins and Carruthers Creek and, most importantly, Lake Ontario. Ajax's 6 k.m. of waterfront remain largely undeveloped for the enjoyment of everyone, with acres of parkland and natural areas.

We are an award-winning city with an active, caring community. The city offers plenty of recreation programs and activities, and our neighbourhoods provide numerous outdoor recreation opportunities. Each year, over 3 million residents and visitors experience the city’s sport fields and state-of-the-art facilities. We have nearly 1,500 hectares of parkland and open spaces, including approximately 140 parks, more than 100 playgrounds and over 26 kilometres of trails. "
