Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake - Taste the Season 2011

Don’t miss out as the 26 Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake get set for another wine and food extravaganza. Hailed as the ’go to’ event of the season, this popular touring and tasting program showcases the unique VQA wines and Niagara-on-the-Lake Wine Country cuisine available in the region. It is also a great time to explore the different wine and gift selections available at each winery and stock up your holiday entertaining.

Spend a weekend touring our 26 wineries where each stop will feature a premium VQA wine and delectable food pairing.

As stewards of the land from which we craft our wines, the Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake are partnering with Carbonzero in the efforts of making Taste the Season a carbon neutral event. A portion of each touring pass sale will be directed towards the purchase of Carbon Offsets in support of Niagara East Landfill Gas Utilization Project. Carbon Offsets are verified reductions of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, designed to help minimize climate change by offsetting an emissions-producing activity. Offset purchasers like Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake, take responsibility for the emissions they are unable to reduce by investing in GHG reductions elsewhere.

The Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake encourage you to taste and tour responsibly. Please designate a driver who won’t be drinking, or take advantage of special offers from our transportation partners for worry free touring.

A full listing of featured wines and food pairings can be found at www.wineriesofniagaraonthelake.com.

The Chocolate Race

Lakeside Beach Park, Port Dalhousie

Imagine running along the roads in a quaint sleepy town, your senses enlivened by the gentle caress of the warm winds blowing off the water and the sweet smell of chocolate wafting in the distance. Part race, part festival, this is anything but a traditional race. Nearly six hundred chocolate loving runners stormed the picturesque streets of Port Dalhousie for the inaugural event in 2009. The 2010 event will be very similar with a few sweet changes. Best of all, our creative team is putting together a chocolate program to tantalize your senses! Come to Niagara for the race and be prepared to stay all weekend for the chocolate festivities. And we're TERRIBLY sorry, but we can't reveal ANY of the decadent details until February!
