Carassauga Festival

CELEBRATING ONTARIO'S CULTURAL DIVERSITY!

Over three fun filled days, visitors will have the unique opportunity to span the globe without leaving the city! A Carassauga Festival Passport gets you unlimited access to cultural pavilions all festival weekend long!

Each cultural pavilion provides a unique blend of music, fashion, and food with a focus on celebrating the city's cultural diversity. Carassauga's mission is to organize a city-wide multicultural festival to promote understanding, respect and co-operation among all Canadians of different heritage. Pavilions feature a wide variety of activities depicting many cultures are showcased in arenas, community centres and private halls throughout the City. Each pavilion showcases heritage through cultural music, food, art, fashion, dance and more with over 3,000 volunteers participating and a record 200,000+ people attended the festival.

Pavilions include: Africa, Egypt, Jamaica, Serbia, Armenia, Greece, Lithuania, Scotland, Azerbaijan, Guyana,Macedonia, Caribbean, Hawaii, Philippines, China, India, Poland, Croatia, International, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy and Scotland. Cost: Passports can be purchased in advance at various libraries, community centres, schools, malls and stores. Passports are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult passport holder.

All new this year is our VIP Excursion package. Purchase a special VIP Excursion ticket for only $75. A tour guide will take a group of 10 to 20 guests on a private bus to visit three pavilions. You will be greeted and treated to VIP seating for the show with a drink and a meal. You will receive an appetizer at the first stop, your main course at our second stop and dessert at the final pavilion. Tickets can be purchsed at the Hershey Centre.

This year, visit our all new Kids Zone located at the Hershey Centre SportsZone, featuring inflatable bouncers, soccer and lacrosse demonstrations, face painting, mascots and much more!

Opening Ceremonies begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Hershey SportZone main stage featuring a Parade of Nations, special guests and musical performances.

Bread & Honey Festival

Streetsville's 37th Bread and Honey Festival is held in Streetsville Memorial Park, a natural amphitheatre site of 30 acres on the Credit River. This year the festival will take place from June 4 - 6, and as usual, expect the tongue-tantalizing sensations of the locally made bread from the local flourmills in Streetsville, the Reid Milling and ADM Milling flourmills. Of course, to go with the local bread, local honey is also used. Various forms of music will be featured on the main stage Saturday and Sunday from 60's to rock and Jazz, Pop and Country. There will be events and features for children like the petting zoo located on the fairgrounds, including a rubber duck race through the Credit River, food concession stands and various rides. The Bread and Honey Festival begins with the Lions Carnival on Friday with the Mammoth Parade taking place at 10 am sharp on Saturday June 6th. The festival, a non-profit, volunteer-run event, ends at 6 pm on Sunday.

Mississauga Waterfront Festival

Port Credit Memorial Park Mississauga The Annual Mississauga Waterfront Festival is a hugely anticipated event attracting up to 65,000 people and reaching more than 1,000,000 through advertising and publicity. Voted one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals eight years in a row, MWF has set new standards for excellence, earning accolades from industry peers, business partners, media and attendees. Known for presenting the best in Canadian and International talent, past concert performances include: Bedouin Soundclash, Sam Roberts, Jann Arden, Tom Cochrane, Chantel Kreviazuk, Colin James, Kathleen Edwards, Suzie McNeill and Bruce Cockburn. The children’s stage is home to popular TV stars like The Backyardigans, Max & Ruby and Dora the Explorer while the Family Fun Village offers everything from stilt walkers and fire-eaters to exciting water shows, family carnival, interactive sports activities, delicious food and unique crafters and vendors. The variety of exciting events and attractions draw visitors to the Mississauga Waterfront Festival from near and far.

Headlining this year’s festival are Sprit of the West, Steven Page of The Barenaked Ladies and much more to come. A full day of entertainment is in store for starting with the Mississauga Future Star Finals, Weekend Kids Events, Dora The Explorer, Shrek. Beibermania Other features include: Petting Zoo & Pony Rides, Tennis Smash Cage, Mini Tennis, Dog Show, Rock Climbing Wall, Home Depot Kid’s Workshop, Pizza Making Workshop, VIA RAIL Mini Train, Scouts Skills Demonstration, Pitney Bowes Literacy Tent, Doodlebug & Roundabout Facepainters and Balloon Art.

PEEL ECOFEST

Peel Ecofest is a FREE public celebration of environmental action in Peel ... in schools, at home or in the community! Ecofest is a rain or shine event. A portion of the festival is under a tent. Please make sure to dress for the weather and bring your sunscreen. To help keep Ecofest waste free, no bottled water will be available at the event. Please remember to bring a reusable water bottle that can be filled at the water refill stations. You may also consider bringing reusable containers or dishes if you plan to have lunch at the festival. Remember your picnic blanket for the main stage area.
