Dinner Fit For A Knight

During the Victorian era, testimonial dinners were given in honour of prominent residents commemorating special events. It is our pleasure to offer this special selection of recipes taken directly from the bill of fare for such a dinner held for Sir Allan MacNab in November 1855. Your culinary journey begins with a tour of the Laird's home then our costumed cooks will guide you through the preparation of historic recipes in our 19th century kitchen. Through both interactive demonstration and hands-on activities, you'll experience a complete evening with a feast fit for a Knight. Giving the gift of a deliciously good time just got easier.

Join Mr. Ancaster - Jim Green, Winner of the 2010 T. Melville Bailey Heritage Award - on a historical mystery bus tour of Ancaster followed by tea and sweets at the Ancaster Old Town Hall. Ancaster's historical locales will be visited, and the dirty laundry will be aired. Love, betrayal, murder and mayhem. No stone will be left unturned. The bus leaves from the Old Town Hall parking lot, 310 Wilson Street.

In honor of the engineers who designed, fabricated and operated Hamilton’s historic waterworks, children are invited to the museum to learn about the engineering science behind every day structures. Children will have the opportunity to build structures at the museum and take home the plans to build similar structures at home.

We will be collecting food donations for local food banks.
